It's a pleasant surprise to see Liz Phair's whitechocolatespaceegg anywhere at all, although Counting Crows' August and Everything After has no right being as high as number 20! And where's Big Star's Radio City and Third/Sister Lovers? I'm sure there are a number of other classics that could replace some of the lesser titles here, but it's inevitable that some of the best are gonna be overlooked. (Perhaps expanding to an even 1000 would've helped.) Here's a few that were missing that I would've liked to have seen in the latter half cause I think they're incredibly underrated:

Milla Jovovich: The Divine Comedy

Chris Isaak: Forever Blue

Supergrass: I Should Coco

Split Enz: Time and TideWayneChahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11386416584530346531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2205878069432093032.post-65920141065369445902008-04-22T11:16:00.000-04:002008-04-22T11:16:00.000-04:00These lists are always subjective.Fun, never the l...These lists are always subjective.
Fun, never the less...

I always like to play the "How many albums in this list did Adrian Belew contribute to ?" game.

Anyone care to play ?blockdoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14760388151980733921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2205878069432093032.post-1496499267698958252008-04-11T11:50:00.000-04:002008-04-11T11:50:00.000-04:00No Social Distortion???????No Social Distortion???????Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2205878069432093032.post-1893851375403270502008-03-28T09:34:00.000-04:002008-03-28T09:34:00.000-04:00Actually a pretty darn good list considering. Too much Coldplay, Dave Matthews, Radiohead and etc undergrad music but still less than you'd expect I guess and a lot of great albums I'd completely forgotten about. So take them in that spirit.

With all the comments about very young participants, I bet that many of those 15 year olds (listening to this station) are a lot more music savvy than your typical 15 year old or even your typical 45 year old.

It would have been interesting to have everyone check off a box with their age group. Then we could see how people picked by age.

Everyone always likes the music of their era best. Also, Wilco apparently beat out The Smiths' "The Queen is Dead". Not that older is necessarily better, but one would usually assume that the derivative woulde placed lower. I know it was voted on, but it seems rather.... random, other than the usual 'every Beatles album' mentality of most 'top albums' lists. It's really odd when you look at the list as a ranking - White Stripes' "White Blood Cells" is better than Television's "Marquee Moon" and The Cure's "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me"? Don't get me wrong...I love the new MIA album and most of what you have included, but ZZ Top's "Tres Hombres" is one of the finest rock & roll records of all time. Before Hendrix passed away he named Billy Gibbons his favourite guitarist...and this album is still fresh and remains largely influential among both R&R and country artists. Perhaps just an oversight on your part...but I feel you are missing big parts of music history (Can "Tago Mago" not listed either??).
