Band of Horses being 84 is proof that WTMD, while better than mainstream radio, isn't doing their job. That album is in my personal top 5 of the year, maybe my #1, and it should at least be in the top 20 of a listener's poll. Here's my advice: rather than trying to promote less-than-amazing bands and records like Citizen Cope, The Kooks, and The Cold War Kids, promote some records that are actually worth listening to and are actually receiving some acclaim. The Crane Wife was a good anomoly in your album of the month feature. I've never heard you play Mew, I've rarely heard The Hold Steady, which should be on 24-7, I've never heard Destroyer or Dungen or the Knife, or a host of other awesome albums from this year and last, like Hot Chip, The Rapture, The Drones, Joanna Newsom, etc. Tell your programmers to turn off MTV or wherever they get their music and start reading the top music websites. I recommend starting with Pitchfork but also checking out Stylus, brooklynvegan, cokemachineglow, and a host of others you will be sure to stumble upon. I'll be listening, mostly since you are the only game in town.

Thanks for the notes. The countdown is tallied on listener votes of all records, weather we played them or not.

Sorry your favorites didn't rank where you would have liked them too.

MTV? Do they still play music?
